America’s number one male tennis player – John Isner – has become the sport’s first star to sign a sponsorship deal with a CBD company.
Isner, ranked number 14 in the world, put pen to paper on a contract with Defy – a manufacturer of CBD-infused sports drinks.
The logo of Defy, founded by former Denver Broncos running back Terrell Davis, will appear on Isner’s hat and he will be taking the drink onto court at major tournaments.
As well as receiving a lucrative financial reward for the endorsement, it is understood Isner has a genuine interest in CBD and has, in the past, discussed its potential benefits at aiding muscle recovery during competition.
“I play a sport where taking a single point off can be the difference between winning and losing a match and Defy is a product specifically intended to put me in a position to perform on every single point,” Isner said shortly after signing the deal.
“It’s been great getting to know Defy as a company and I look forward to working with them to help people achieve improved performance through CBD.”
Isner joins a growing drive towards understanding the potential of cannabis-derived products, with several studies being commissioned around the world to gain a better understanding of what CBD can do.
Baylor College in Texas was the latest centre of academic medical research to begin a comprehensive study of cannabis – read about it here… https://thenaturalhalo.com/baylor-college-to-begin-cbd-research/.
