Rapper, actor an producer Ice-T is the latest celebrity to join the cannabis industry after he announced plans to open a dispensary in Jersey City, New Jersey,
He has joined up with the brand with friend Charis B, the founder of “The Medicine Woman“, a company that already has a dispensary in New Jersey to go along with their branch in California.
After his rap career helped shape “gangsta rap” the star went on to act in numerous films and TV shows including Law and Order.
He and Charis Burrett received approval from the Jersey City Cannabis Control Board which is known to be strict in their approval.
Speaking of the announcement the rapper said “I’ve dedicated my life and career to giving back and paving the way for minorities. As a New Jersey native, I’m excited for the opportunity legalization offers our community, and I look forward to ushering in a new era for Cannabis in the state,”.

The Medicine Woman branch in New Jersey has already partnered with numerous charities in the local area and is committed to employing local members of the community.
Ice-T follows in the footsteps of Snoop Dogg and Mike Tyson joining them as another example of the appeal of attaching a celebrity to your cannabis brand and highlights the close links between the hip-hop community and cannabis.
The new branch is due to open in Autumn 2022.
