Reunion Costa Rica launches LGBTQIA2S+ program

Reunion Costa Rica has announced its latest initiative – the LGBTQIA2S+ Program – aiming to promote inclusivity, diversity, and understanding through unique healing retreats.

The not-for-profit organization, renowned for its transformative retreat experiences, is now championing a pioneering approach that combines plant medicine, tailored workshops, and comprehensive support to address the specific needs of the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

This initiative is marked by a series of curated plant medicine retreats, which are designed to resonate with the unique experiences and challenges faced by the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

Reunion has woven together a tapestry of healing ceremonies, engaging workshops, and integration circles, with the aim of fostering self-love, acceptance, and authenticity.

The program begins with the “Cultivating Pride & Authenticity” retreat, set to take place from October 28 to November 4, 2023.

This inaugural retreat is crafted together with queer leaders and seasoned psychologists to specifically cater to gay, queer, trans, or questioning men.

Through a transformative journey guided by experienced facilitators, participants will explore the power of ayahuasca, focusing on releasing shame, nurturing self-acceptance, and living authentically.

Brad Wells, the Founder, and Steward of Reunion, emphasized the organization’s core principles, saying, “We hold a firm belief that everyone deserves a safe space to grow, heal, and explore their identities freely. Safety and inclusivity are pillars of our mission, and Reunion is dedicated to fostering an environment of compassion, understanding, and self-love.”

The “Cultivating Pride & Authenticity” retreat provides a holistic healing experience, offering a range of activities including plant medicine sessions, embodiment workshops, ecstatic dance, and cacao ceremonies.

Participants will also have ample opportunity to interact with the nature in Costa Rica, thus enriching their transformative journey.

Integral to the retreat are the pre- and post-support systems.

These are set in place to ensure that the impact of the retreat extends beyond its duration, empowering participants to take the lessons learned into their everyday lives, thereby creating a ripple effect of positive change within their networks and communities.

While the initial retreat is specifically designed for gay, queer, trans, or questioning men, Reunion has plans to include all members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community in its future offerings.
