Botanacor unveils Denver testing lab

Botanacor Laboratories has opened a new laboratory testing facility in Denver that the company says will increase capacity 10-fold.

Botanacor, which undertakes testing of hemp and hemp-derived CBD products, says its microbiology and molecular biology labs have been specifically designed and engineered to include a filtered air handling system to manage containment, providing proper channels for sample workflows and waste streams.

Botanacor co-founder Mike Branvold said: “Through Botanacor’s comprehensive Quality System, the new lab has been purpose-built to meet GMP/GLP (Good Laboratory Practice regulations and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements).

“Our clients benefit through the preparation of accurate and reproducible test results; the generation of legally defensible data; and the ability to withstand the scrutiny of the inevitable transition into an FDA-regulated system.

“Additionally, Botanacor is preparing for DEA-registration to meet (proposed) USDA requirements, further enhancing our leading position in the marketplace.”

A press release states Botanacor was the first Colorado-based laboratory founded for, and entirely focused on, hemp and CBD testing.

“Botanacor Laboratories has distinguished itself from its competitors by building a State-of-the-Art testing laboratory, designed to meet GMP regulations on par with that of the FDA-regulated industry, and streamlined to deliver test results faster than any company known today,” added Botanacor and Agricor’s COO, Dr Carl Craig.

The US cannabis testing market will be worth US$ 1.2 billion by 2026, according to a new report.

The research, by Global Market Insights, states a surge in demand for medical cannabis will lead to the implementation of stringent government regulations for testing – driving market growth.
