Oasis star’s ex-wife now runs cannabis production farms for CBD

Meg Matthews, former wife of Britpop legend Noel Gallagher has revealed she runs cannabis farms to produce medicinal oil.

The 53-year-old, who first started using cannabis oil to tackle anxiety, is now looking to see if the product can assist women dealing with the often-crippling symptoms of menopause.

“I grow it in England and Ireland,” she says.

“They grow so fast, and if I plant them in June then by August they will be over six feet tall.

“The seeds don’t have THC in – the hallucinogenic part in weed which makes you get stoned.

“So, if you went to cut that eventual plant down, then you couldn’t smoke it.”

The mother-of-one, who lives in London’s fashionable Primrose Hill, currently devotes much of her time to attempting to “break the stigma around menopause” which she began to experience since turning 50.

Through her MegsMenopause website, she has made several appearances on the BBC as well as daytime TV programs like Loose Women, Lorraine and Jeremy Vine.

However, she explained that she has faced difficulty in being able to discuss her work around CBD products and the symptoms she and millions of other women have experienced.

“I do think it’s crazy that I can go on Loose Women to talk about the menopause, but the Advertising Association will not let you say the word ‘menopause’ or the word ‘menstrual’ – it’s ridiculous,” she slammed.

“Every woman is going to go through the menopause, but I can’t advertise my products on TV.

“I’d have to say these products are ‘for a woman of a certain age’.”

She also added how the production line works from farm to bottle.

“The whole process goes from the plant being cold-compressed and then the liquid that comes from it looks like a black tar,” she explained.

“Then it is taken to my workshop in south London where the CBD oil is bottled or used in other products.”

Her bottled products sell for upwards of £70 a time but Ms Matthews is keen to extol the benefits she claims to have experienced.

“I’ve lost two stone by a lot of walking and going on a treadmill on an incline,” she added.

“Before, I had no energy – I didn’t want to look at myself in the mirror and I felt very uncomfortable going to the gym.

“But now I’ve got my mojo back.”
